We have a fantastic opportunity to work at the JR hospital in a nine-month placement for five band 5 registered nurses!
Registered Nurses Band 5 Required:
This is Part of the Covid Clinical Trial Team – working with the University of Oxford.
The role will involve taking vital OBS, ECG tests, regular PCR tests, urine tests, data collection and entry, blood tests, escorting patients to radiology, etc.
The participants are fit and healthy so there will be few, or no medication administered.
The unit will be running 24/7 so this will include both day and night shifts. Staff will be doing long days 07:30-20:00 or nights 19:30-08:00.
There will be full training given on the procedures and protocols.
We ask for commitment for the period to ensure safety of participants and accuracy of data collected.
If you are interested in this placement, please email sally.pickett@nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk
OUH trust require that all staff required to wear level 3 PPR for aerosol generating procedures need to be Face Fit Tested. This will help maintain staff and patient safety. Please make sure you are compliant to continue undertaking shifts on behalf of NHS professionals.
If you are not yet tested, please click on the link and select a location, service and suitable date and time. Appointments take between 15 to 30 minutes, but this time can vary.
Please complete the fit test and email certificate.
If you have any questions regarding the FFT testing please visit the frequently asked questions.
Please only book into shifts that you can commit to; if you need to cancel, please give as much notice as possible so that shifts can be booked by others to ensure continuity of care for patients. If you are unable to attend a booked shift you will need to refuse the shift using your MY:Bank account and selecting the most appropriate reason.
If you refuse a booked shift with less than 8 hours before the shift start time, then please bear in mind that this may be considered a short notice cancellation and will be subject to review by our HR team.
If for extreme circumstances, you do need to refuse a shift with short notice please also call the ward you were due to work on and let the ward manager know that you are unable to attend so they can look at their staffing needs.
You may have recently completed a covid risk assessment. If this is still outstanding, please log into My:Bank to complete the required assessment. This is a short assessment to make sure you as a bank member are protected whilst at work. Failure to complete may put hold on your account.
NHSP pay all their Bank Members weekly. Once your shift has been authorised by your manager, you must release your timesheet by midnight on Sunday that week, to be paid the following Friday. If you have a query about the hours authorised, please query the timesheet with a note. Once authorised, timesheet ‘awaiting release’ will appear in your notification section in My:Bank, releasing it sends your timesheet to our payroll department.
Please see below shift release dates for bank holidays. You must release your timesheet before dates provided to be paid the following week.
In the event that you are not able to contact your shift authoriser, or you need help using the e-timesheet system, please contact the National Service Centre on 03332 407 552.
We wanted to make you aware, we do have an Employee Assistance Programme which is available 24/7. If you feel you need any further support at this unprecedented time visit our Employee Assistance Programme (if you go to the login section, the password is: NHSP) .
