Pharmacy Technician

NHS Professionals have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to cover a temporary position with our client trust. You will be responsible for performing general pharmaceutical duties under the supervision of a pharmacy technician specialist. To undertake day to day supervision of staff including the allocation of tasks in order to co-ordinate and manage the workload of the section.

Location: – Southampton General Hospital, SO16 6YD

Hours & Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week (weekdays) hours to be discussed and confirmed with successful applicant.

 

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Providing medicines management or other technical information to healthcare professionals both within and externally to the trust to ensure continuity of care.
  • Achieving and maintaining accredited and/or extended competencies in area of practice as identified in local pathway documentation.
  • Supervising, planning, and managing day to day work of allocated staff, reviewing and reallocating tasks when necessary to meet workload demands.
  • Responsible for the safe storage and supply of medicines. Maintaining knowledge of regulations and legislation associated with medicines.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

  • GPhC registered
  • Medicines Optimisation qualification equivalent to PWDS (formerly SWMIT) Intermediate level or higher
  • Must have experience in NHS or equivalent in a related area
  • Evidence of training in dispensing procedures
  • Knowledge of Pharmacy information systems
