We currently have a unique and exciting opportunity within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust which will allow the successful candidates to gain regular shifts and valuable experience within a unique children and adolescent mental health environment. We have both Fully Flexible Ad Hoc shifts and a Long Term Placement opportunity available at Leigh House in Winchester providing you with the chance to work regular shifts for a guaranteed period of time!

Location – Leigh House, Winchester

Band 5

Day Rate - £16.13 per hour

Night/Sat Rate - £20.97 per hour

Sun/Bank Holiday Rate - £25.80 per hour

NHS Professionals, working in conjunction with Southern Health NHS Foundation trust are seeking qualified Registered Nurses to join the bank. NHS Professionals works in partnership with Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust to provide their temporary staffing requirements.

Leigh House Hospital is a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Hospital near to the M3 in Winchester. We are a 21-bed unit caring for male and female young people from the age of 12-18yrs. The young people who come to Leigh House can be admitted informally or may be detained under the Mental Health Act for a period of assessment and treatment. We offer a safe and welcoming environment to a range of young people who may be suffering from mental illnesses such as mood disorders and psychotic illness, as well as anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Leigh House also offers treatment for young people who suffer from an eating disorder as part of an evidence-based programme. The role of the nursing team is about offering day-to-day support to the young people by encouraging them to have a structured day of school and therapies, as well as engaging them in activities and offering emotional support. We have free parking onsite for all staff and visitors, with meals and snacks included within the shift as we eat together with the young people.

Hours and shift are offered on a fully flexible basis, full or part time!

  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role held within the last 2 years
  • Have good communication skills and demonstrate evidence of team working
  • Be able to take direction and instruction and be honest and trustworthy
